科學科技傳播媒體的專業內涵與社會影響力

Science communication holds the key to improvement in public understand of science issues and problems. Previous studied shown that mass media is the main resource for the public receiving the scientific information and knowledge. The degree of news media practitioners’ science literacy is a major element throughout the production of science news. After conducting in-depth interview with science journalists, this study explores that the nature of science and media is conflicted. It needs to look at the process of science communication from the receiver side, especially the need of the media’s audience The study also finds that science journalists still view themselves as media traditional roles such as conveyors and watchdogs. Improving journalists’ science literacy is an important task faced by the journalist and the media organization and the on-line science communication model will affect the process of science communication at the present and in the future.
