Description
The study aims to develop game-based mathematics activity modules to enhance the learning motivation of children who are congenitally blind, encourage them to learn through the ARCS motivation model, and to raise their self-confidence and learning effectiveness. The results of this study found that the difficulties and challenges of learning mathematics for visually impaired students include difficulty in learning mathematics, unskilled mathematics operation, low vision causing difficulties in mathematics operation, and reduced learning motivation because of difficult learning content. Therefore, this study develops 14 sets of strategies and skills of game-based mathematical activity modules for visually impaired students to assist their learning. This study found that game-based math activity modules can enhance the motivation and interest of blind students in mathematics learning, and improve their learning effectiveness. The results of this research can establish and expand the foundation for the future study of mathematics education for congenitally blind students.
