生農環境與多樣性學門規劃研究推動計畫

The duties of a division convener consist of (1) assisting with handling and review of single-topic research project applications; (2) attendance at international conferences and lectures by foreign scientists in Taiwan, short-term guidance in science and technology, and review of applications for recruited research manpower; (3) review of applications for international cooperation and bilateral cooperation (discipline planning in cooperation, recommendation of priority cooperation items, reciprocal visits of personnel, etc.), funding of international academic conferences held in Taiwan, funding of teams participating in the conferences of international academic organizations, funding of multinational industry-academic collaboration and interchange, and specialized manpower training sessions; (4) attendance at division convener conferences, assisting the MOST with relevant services; (5) assistance with writing of annual research reports for the division and assistance with providing provisional academic information for the division; (6) implementation of review and explanatory meetings, discussion meetings, panel discussions, and results announcement meetings; (7) consulting, planning, and promotion of other matters related to the division; and (8) discovery of forward-looking research topics and promotion of international interchange. The 2018 experience sharing and discussion was hosted in northern, central and southern Taiwan. Experienced researchers provided their successful grant application experiences. In addition, the open discussion provided the opportunity for scientist to raise their questions about grant applications and suggestions for the development of the division. The development of this division covers the following three fields (1) plant protection, soil and environmental conservation, (2) forestry, soil and water conservation and biomechatronic connotations and bioengineering, and (3) biodiversity. Efforts was devoted to promote the healthy development of the three fields, to contribute to sustainable development of Taiwan and to increase international visibility. Efforts was also be devoted to encourage more scientists to get involved in this division to reach the goal sustainable development of Taiwan and promote the visibility of academic achievement of Taiwan. To promote the development of this division, the division convener actively contacted scientists of the division and compiled their comments and suggestion in the form of a division planning report, which shall serve to guide development of Agriculture Environment and Biodiversity.
