Project Details
Description
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is always the major reliability threat in IC chips. Once the ICs are damaged by ESD, they cannot be recovered and the functionality will be lost. Therefore, several ESD protection designs have developed for the IC chips. The ESD protection circuits must be equipped on the chips, including the IC chips for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The novel ESD protection technique for IoT applications must be developed. In some IoT terminal devices, the user will use it at close range or even close to the human body, thus creating ESD problem. Designing protection circuits is needed for the IoT ICs to be robust for ESD. Each function block in IoT chip may need specific ESD protection circuit. Therefore, the novel ESD protection techniques for IoT chips will be developed in this project.
