Description

Based on the mid-term master plan of 2019, this project aimed to promote the research and development of the Sustainable Development Discipline for 2024. The major missions include awarding 2024 research proposals via panel reviews, adjusting the theme for call for proposal in 2025, supporting selected teams to develop and carry out data management plan, and promoting international collaborations of sustainable science research. Specifically the tasks were successfully accomplished: (1) awarded 112 projects based on peer and panel reviews; (2) synthesized global trends of sustainable development research; (3) promoted nature-based solutions (NbS) planning initiatives; (4) initiated the fifth midterm planning project of the sustainability program and defined the framework; (5) assisted the promotion and engagement of Belmont Forum CRA and other activities; (6) continued the enforcement of data management plan; (7) promoted the arctic research plan and Taiwan sustainable space planning projects (in cooperation with other earth science related disciplines NSTC); (8) optimizing graphic-based literature search platform. Based on these academic services, this project contributed to promote sustainable development research in Taiwan. It also helped to promote transdisciplinary research in sustainability science and enhance the sharing of research outcome and the potential of utilizing the results to solve real world problems. Last but not the least, helped to enhance the participation and contribution of Taiwan in global sustainable development research.
