Description
The protection forests with functions of water conservation, wind and sand prevention and protection of the natural environment, which are restricted to develop. Due to forest succession and social changes, the forests in some protection forests are gradually becoming aging, chaotic, dense and unapproachable area. In recent years, the demand of public use and activities have increased. This research aims to explore the relationship between protection forest image, value of ecosystem service, attention restoration and mood state of people doing leisure activities in the protection forest. This research is divided into two parts. The first part is based on theories of landscape image, value of ecosystem service and forest therapy. The second part is to explore the health promotion benefits of residents participating in forest therapy program in the protection forest. The research is to reposition the value and management policy of the protection forests. In part Ⅰ, 302 questionnaires were completed, the mean age of subjects were 40±15.01 years old. The results shown that: (1) The image of protection forest can be categorized into: “ecological conservation” and “Industrial economy”. (2) People who has the habit of exercise have higher score of “ecological conservation type” protection forest image. (3) Age and education level effect the value of ecosystem service. (4) The attention recovery component of protection forest has significantly difference in exercise habit, living area and education level. (5) People participating leisure activities in protection forest have significantly difference mood state in age, education level, exercise habit and living area. In Part Ⅱ, the research discussed residents living near the protection forests after participating forest therapy program about the difference of physiological (heart rate, blood pressure, salivary amylase and heart rate variability) and mood state(POMS). 32 questionnaires were completed, the mean age of subjects were 66±9.28 years old. The results shown none of other physiological indicators significantly changed before and after the program except sympathetic nerve activity significantly decreased. The results of mood states indicate that none of other physiological indicators significantly changed except the dimension of “fatigue-inertia” significantly increased. The results of this study can be used as a reference for follow-up research on protection forests and the forestry bureau's future development of ecosystem service forest environmental policies and management of protection forests.
