Project Details

Description

Just like current Taiwanese young generation who are not interested in the unification of Taiwan and mainland China, young people in South Korea nowadays also pay less attention to the issue of unification of South and North Koreas. Does South Korea’s democratization have any impact on young people’s thinking of the unification issue just as Taiwan’s case does? Is the process of collective socialization associated with South Korea’s domestic political development a main factor? Or it is young people’s personal feelings that matter? Does their personal rational calculations play any role in their thought about unification? This project will explore the attitudes and their formation of South Korea’s young generation toward the unification issue.
