PURPOSE: To improve the performance of the conventional kicking paddle, an electronic sensor was used to the new kicking paddle, and at the same time, an interactive program was designed for feeding back parameters such as speed, strength and number of kicks. Hence, the current training problems can be solved and the kicking performance can be effectively analyzed. METHOD: Combine the pressure sensor with the conventional kicking paddle, in which the force plate was used for physical detection and the high-speed camera was used for practical testing. RESULT: According to the physical detection results, the data measured by the intelligent kicking paddle was linearly related to the weight change. As the applied force was different, the data analysis results of the intelligent kicking paddle and the force plate showed a high correlation (r = .88, F = .000). That was, the intelligent kicking paddle can effectively detect the data and further accurately estimate the actual force value of kicking. In addition, according to the practical testing, the results showed that the intelligent kicking paddle has high accuracy (accuracy rate of 94.8%) for the detection of the number of kicks. At the same time, the APP had also been developed to transmit kicking information in real time. This system can monitor the performance of players during training, provide accurate data to assist coaches and players to understand the results of training, and improve the efficiency and quality of Taekwondo training.
