Description
The preservation of digital objects is an issue that memory institutions must always pay attention to. In the digital era, memory institutions also actively digitize the important resources of their collections. Whether it is the damage of the digital storage media, the aging, or the outdated digital file format, and the authenticity and integrity of the digital files, it has made the issue of digital preservation become more complicated. This study used the qualitative in-depth interview method to collect opinions of interviewed domestic memory institutions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of domestic memory institutions on digital preservation, their current state of implementation of digital preservation, and the correlation between PREMIS and digital preservation of digital objects. Since domestic memory institutions do not currently implement PREMIS, it is expected that domestic memory institutions can implement OAIS-compliant digital preservation with PREMIS in the near future, improve domestic memory institutions’ understanding and fluency of digital preservation, and establish a national digital preservation mechanism.
