Education environment is quite significant to human beings. Therefore, in the twelve-year compulsory education, environmental issues are concluded. However, courses in Taiwan are given with expository strategies. The benefit is to make the courses more effective while sometimes reducing students’ learning effect resulting from external interference. This study will create a story about environmental protection with the feature of virtual reality. The aim is to make students feel like they are immersed in the story. The main storyline is that they are facing the end of the world and many dilemmas, in this manner, the students will understand the importance of the environment and its conservation. By means of game-based learning with virtual reality, the hope is to improve environmental education, trigger the students’ empathy and make environmental education attract more attention. Environmental education is not only a subject to learn but also the lifelong mission of human beings. Hence, the study will apply information technology into education and discuss that if the learning effect will be enhanced with the virtual reality as courses’ assistance, and students’ immersion and empathy will be improved. With the discussion between students, observing if the obvious difference existing in their knowledge construction and if they can improve empathy and affect behavior with the experience of virtual reality.
