Description
This research undertook a two-stages study, aiming to carry on with researcher’s previous counseling model established in 2011 and to refine the model to suit for the planning of national athletes counseling program. A triangular cycle procedure of quantitative experiment design, qualitative/quantitative evaluation measures and re-revision were conducted to adjust the intervention model to fit for available situation and resources. The researcher employed a pilot study (study1: career counseling workshop), and an experiment (study2) for comparing the effects between prior and posterior that participants were offered intervention service (i.e.12 weeks group counseling). With crossed referring to experts’ opinions and experience of successful career transition, the researcher examined the fitness of our model in practical employment. The findings demonstrated that career counseling intervention would evoke individuals for considering the issue of career transition, and the career counseling intervention would affect the confident in career development of athletes in Taiwan. According to the findings, the model was re-adjusted and examined afterwards to further establish the practical value of “Taiwan Athletes Career Counseling Model”.
