Project Details
Description
The purpose of this study is going to construct a “Perceived Physical Literacy Instrument for College Students”. The validity and reliability will be tested through a questionnaire. The process of this project consisted of three stages. Firstly, a wide range of literature related to physical literacy and physical literacy assessment tool will be reviewed by the researchers. Secondly, 21 experts will be assembled for a discussion through the Delphi technique for examining the factors and the items of each factor. The content validity of the questionnaire will be evaluated by other experts before drafting a preliminary version one. 530 valid questionnaire samples were collected and analyzed by the partial least square method (PLS) to test the reliability and validity of the scale construct. The result showed that the perceived physical literacy instrument for college students included 2 dimensions (PE class and daily life outside of PE class), 4 factors (motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding), and 13 elements. The study started from the students’ life situations, so that college students can realize the importance of lifelong participation in physical activity and understand the connotations of different situations in terms of physical education class and physical activity. The “perceived physical literacy instrument for college students” might help PE teaches design curriculum and implement teaching practice to promote the students' physical literacy journey.
