Project Details
Description
Purpose: The purpose of this research was to construct adventure education programs aimed at resilience enhancement for college freshmen as well as to evaluate the effects for these programs. Methods: These adventure education courses were designed following the benefits-based management activity planning model. Then, quasi-experimental as well as the pretest-posttest nonequivalent groups design were used. Participants were divided into two groups: an experimental group with participating in adventure education courses and a control group without participation. The scale of “resilience” was used to examine the effects of the adventure education courses for 72-hours intervention. Data analysis was conducted by the methods of paired t test and One-way ANCOVA. Results: The experimental group achieved more significant and positive improvement on scale of resilience than the control group. Conclusions: The designed adventure education courses could bring out positive effect on resilience for college freshmen. In the end, the research finding could act as the reference for school student affairs and counseling teachers.
