Description

In order to implement the "Green Textile" topic of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2023 and respond to the country's important industrial policies (AI, net zero carbon emissions, humanities and society), our in-terdisciplinary team based on industry, academia, and research extended the past foundation to build a model for the "2024 Smart Textile International Camp", focusing on sustainability and physical sensation. It enabled Tai-wan's industry, academia, and research units to work with Southeast Asian officials, experts, and scholars to jointly create an "intelligent textile ecosystem" with educational, technological, and industrial cooperation, and strengthened the regional scientific and technological cooperation. The implementation steps and methods include an international camp schedule that combines intellectual visits and interesting practices, matching trainees with subsequent studies/employment development, and preparing for an Asia-Pacific association related to smart textiles. This international camp invites experts, scholars, and industry teachers from international organizations in Southeast Asia and domestic industry, academia, and research institutions to give lectures, guide internships, and practices. It also recruits students from many countries in Southeast Asia. The itinerary covers industries, universities, and research institutions in northern and central Taiwan, providing both the intellectual experience of learning by doing and the emotional experience of learning by doing. The Trade and Economic Offices of Indonesian and Thai countries win Taiwan also sent representatives to participate in the exchange activities. In addition, in response to the global Christmas season, a small-scale Green Christmas event for international students was held to promote green textiles to the international community through the participation of international students. This international camp has not only initially achieved the goal of linking/strengthening international collaboration, but the participation of some high-level executives from Taiwan's industries also shows that it can provide high-level human resources training or professional pre-employment education for Taiwanese industries or Taiwanese businessmen in Southeast Asia, and match participating international students with future employment.
