千經萬典，也只是修心──《西遊記》演義的勸善思想

The main purpose of my application for this special research project is to clarify the controversy surrounding the interpretation of the theme of “Xiyou Ji”( Journey to the West) in the past research. Based on the perspective of "Yanyi"(), I tried to re-examine the narrative discourse of “Xiyou Ji”(Journey to the West) and discuss the writing intentions of the novel hrough the ideological proposition of "Eliminate disasters"(). There are three main research topics: first, respect for life: the introspection of seeking to become human being on religious practice; second, cultivation of the mind: the practice of self-cultivation; third, statecraft: the pursuit of the benevolent world. I hope that I can explain the “exhortated thought”() of “Xiyou Ji”(Journey to the West) from the above three research topics.
