Description
The research aims to analyze the mechanisms of different levels of remote associations in the process of creativity using explicit and internal approach, and examine the effectiveness of the remote association capacity cultivation course. Study 1 examined the correlations between different levels (radical, character, word) Chinese Remote Associate Test’s accuracy and other creativity test (e.g. divergent thinking task, insight problems). Study 2 analyzed the item components of three version Chinese Remote Associates Tests via LLTM approach. Study 3 differentiated the visual-spatial and verbal remote association via fMRI approach. Study 4 and 5 examined the structural brain connectivity in connect with different levels remote association using DTI and sMRI. Study 5 developed the remote association capacity cultivation course, and examines its effectiveness by comparing the differences of behavior change before and after the course between the experimental group and control group. Six studies provided empirical evidence to enhance the understanding of different levels of remote associations processing creative mechanisms.
