Project Details
Description
The project invites professors and scholars of animal sciences, veterinary science, life sciences, and sports science from National Taiwan University, National Taiwan Normal University, and National Chiayi University, to submit an innovative production project for animal health feed additives with forward-looking and international competition. In order to improve the resistance and protection of the animals to the adverse environment, or to improve feed utilization and reduce the cost of feeding and treatment, the project hopes to screen effective medicinal feed additives from Taiwan's endemic medicinal plants, natural products, microorganisms and their derivatives. Till now, the project has been implemented for nearly half a year. In response to the problem of domestic economic animal feeding antibiotics, our plan is expected to develop at least one economic animal health feed additive that can replace antibiotics, and apply for patents for achievements and seek industrial technology transfer. In addition, in response to domestic pets facing problems such as aging, heart disease, kidney disease and obesity, this plan is expected to develop at least one healthy functional companion animal health feed additive, and apply for patent achievements and seek industrial technology transfer. To summarize the results of our project in this year, one economic animal health feed additive that can replace antibiotics has been completed this year; and one companion animal health feed additive that can replace antibiotics has been completed, and patent applications for achievements and industrial technology transfers have been pursued. Our project is expected to continue to develop functional companion and economic animal health feed additives next year, and complete the above-mentioned achievement patent application and seek industrial technology transfer. We hope these animal health feed additives can be transferred to the industry as commercial products that create a high economic output value for the global animal health feed additive market.
