The purpose of the study was to explore emerging adults’ perception of career future vision. In the first year, we interview college students and graduates aged from 18 to 27 in focused group. There were 3 to 6 persons in a group, totally 32 interviewees. The interview data were transcribed and analyzed by grounded analysis. The results come out with five core categories of career vision for the emerged young adults: the connection between self here and now and the future self; imaging world of work; the connection between future self and the family of origin; social value and personal future development; and the action for future. For the specific content of the emerging young adults personal and career life, we found that there are four characteristics: connection between self and others; reflection of family of origin on self-development; adaptability for the world of work; and technological creativity and human concerns. For the future, we are continuing the second and third year research. In the second year, a Future Oriented Vision Scale (FOV) will be developed based on the interview data in the first year. The intermediate effect of FOV between perceptions of career chaos and career adaptability and life satisfaction will be examined. In the third, we will develop a curriculum program based on action oriented Hope-Centered Career Program embedded in Life Design Model. The effect of the curriculum program will be tested by quasi-experimental design. The participants will be invited from the university campus. In conclusion, we expected the program could be effective in increasing the emerging adult’s career adaptability and life satisfaction.
