Pedagogical grammar has been a highly valued and discussed issue in language teaching. Nasaji and Fotos (2011) indicate that in the process which second language learner develop communication skill for precise and fluent use of the target language; the “pedagogical grammar” must play an important role in language teaching designs and activities. In the perspective of teaching Chinese as a second language, it is believe that pedagogical grammar provides learning rules reflecting the language acquisition progress of learners (2000). Accordingly, the learner-oriented pedagogical grammar puts emphasis on what grammar to learn, how to learn, and how it is taught (Xing 2006, 2004). The project applicant notices the gap between theoretical researches and empirical teaching in CSL teaching. Therefore, the project, applying corpus-based analytical method, aims to propose the optimal ranking for teaching grammar in Chinese by comparing and verifying the frequency of grammar’s total usages and error usages, making progress in Chinese grammar pedagogy In addition, the changing digital technology has made the way of language teaching different. Nowadays CSL teaching is digitalized; more and more Chinese digital products provide more and more choices for CSL learners. The development of digital technology and the internet has broken the limitation of time and space, making teaching and learning more free, convenient and instant. The project will follow the steps: first, ranking the grammar in frequency order and classifying them by frequency ranges; second, verifying the ranking with corpus-based comparison; third, construct a “Chinese grammar digital platform” applying innovative technology. The CSL teaching digital platform provides all needs of users (Chinese lecturers, Chinese learners, Chinese teaching material editors, and so on) to search for the information of Chinese grammar and error types of learners’ texts as the illustration and comparison of the grammar and example sentences. The Chinese grammar digital platform constructed with innovative technology is considered most about the practicality. Therefore, the project will design teaching experiments as the empirical research to investigate the teaching and learning efficiency, in which the result will be adopt to evaluate the scientificity, objectivity, and practicality of the platform.
