Under globalization, the development and utilization of international talents have become a crucial issue for multinational organizations. Now that Taiwan enterprises continuously expanding their business territories overseas, and the requirement of subsidiaries being managed by their headquarters, working places constituted of talents expatriated from headquarters and employees of various cultural background is becoming more popular. The cross-cultural communication and cross- cultural adaption will be the first shock of expatriates. Since past studies focused on Taiwanese expatriate training and development but without applying e-mentoring, this study investigated the practices of expatriate training and development which the Taiwan enterprises have taken and adopted e-mentoring, as well as investigate the problems they have confronted. The study reviewed theories regarding expatriate training and development through literature, follows by field interviews with experts to concretely cover the experiences and needs Taiwan enterprises conducting expatriate training and development abroad based on using e-mentoring. For fulfilling the purpose, deeply interviews were employed to collect the practical experience of twelve exports from twelve Taiwan enterprises conducting expatriate training and development abroad based on using e-mentoring. And an online survey was also designed and conducted for collecting relevant organizations' data. Finally, 198 valid responses were collected. There are several conclusions proposed after analyzing, and the final portion of the study consisted suggestions according to the result of the study. Based on the findings, Taiwan enterprises still have considerable steps for improvement in operating the electronic apprenticeship system for expatriate cross-cultural adaptation. This is not only serving as a reference for Taiwan enterprises to effectively improve their expatriate training and development approaches in overseas, but also be deemed as vital reference for relevant Taiwanese enterprises and further studies.
