中年女性生涯-生活風格及生命意義之形塑與諮商模式

This is a two-year research. The purposes of the first year were: (1) to realize midlife high school teachers’ career-life designing through narrative approach; (2) to establish a tried Career-life Design Narrative model for high school teacher trough grounded theory; The second year’s purposes were: (3) to test the effects of “Career-life Design Narrative Model” applied for educators; (4) to explore the content, elements, and process of career designing counseling; (5) to clarify the attitude and skills applied by counseling psychologist during the narrative process through content analysis..In the second year, we interviewed 40 school educators and assigned them to two groups: the experimental group (RAISE-up model, N=25) and control group (Dream model, N=15). The results of the two different counseling approaches were compared by pre-test and post test ANCOVA in order to examine the effectiveness of the counseling model built in the first year of the current study. The results indicated that both RAISE-up model and Dream Work model were effective in terms of improving Personal Growth Initiative, Work Satisfaction, Life Satisfaction, and Adult Hope for participants. No significant difference between the two groups. The participants also answered an open-ended questionnaire asking their opinions of life meaning and their action plan after the intervention. The results of content analysis indicated that the meaning of life sensed by the participants can be categorized into three areas: “connect with the self”, “connect with others”, and “accepting what happened since it might be your destiny”. In terms of action plan, the responses were categorized into three parts: “self-care“, “improving relationships with significant others“, and “self-realization.“
