中學教師科學素養評量能力之培育及推廣

The trend of international educational assessment is focusing on literacies, moreover, the competencies and testing modes are also changing. The interdisciplinary collaboration among experts of science literacy assessment, scientists, science educators, local educational authorities, educational leaders and school teachers is critical for the success of cultivating science teachers with the trendy knowledge and skills about assessment of student skills in science. A series of professional development programs which aim to equip the junior high school science teachers with rationale, knowledge and skills of science inquiry and problem solving, and skills about analyzing and modifying, or developing test items were proposed. A variety of combination of lectures, hands-on activities, modifying or developing test items, or knowledge sharing institutes will be provide in 2013/05~2016/04. We had done the 18 primary lectures, 4 junior lectures, 7 seed teacher training courses, and 5 test items developing workshops. In order to support all science teachers with powerful resource, we recruited the excellent seed teachers as the core team to develop the test items, assessment, and teaching manual. This project will enhance science teachers in their assessment competencies of science literacy, and is promising in promoting quality change of science teaching that allows students to have (1) to scientific explanation of natural phenomena capacity; (2) the ability of scientific inquiry; (3) the ability to interpret scientific evidence.
